this cake will make you smarter

The next few entries will recap cakes from 2010 which never made it onto the blog. This particular beaut was commissioned by renowned architecture professor David Bell for the students in his studio, who happened to be designing a physics laboratory in the spring of 2010. With the instructions to design a cake apropros of Albert Einstein's 131st birthday (coincidentally, his birthday is Pi Day. If this wasn't a sign from the heavens that he was destined for mathematical greatness, then I'm really not sure what is), here is the result:


And while this picture kept coming up in Google Image searches (I'm still not sure if it's real or Photoshopped. Pretty sure it's real), I instead decided to have him lurk off the page and let the theoretical equations and - more importantly - the Einstein coif take center stage.
